Khris Middleton exits Bucks-Celtics game with hyperextended left knee

Khris Middleton limps to the locker room after hyperextending his left knee late in the third quarter.

Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Khris Middleton suffered a hyperextended left knee in the third quarter of Bucks 117-103 loss to the Celtics and did not return.

Middleton landed awkwardly after colliding with teammate Rodney Hood as the as the two went after a defensive rebound. He then limped to the other end of the court during the Bucks’ next possession before heading straight to the locker room.

Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said they would wait until Tuesday to make a determination on the severity of the injury.

“I think we’re terming it a left knee hyper-extension,” Budenholzer said at the postgame news conference. “We’ll know more tomorrow, but I think there’s some hope that it’s not serious, but you gotta wait and give it time.”

A two-time All-Star, Middleton is averaging 18.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists this season.
