Tipoff of Friday’s Game 3 between the Hawks and the Heat was delayed by nearly an hour after a suspicious package was found outside Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.
Per the Hawks, multiple gates were closed as the police department investigated and removed the package, which was reportedly found near the stairwell that provides access to a MARTA subway station at the arena.

The game finally tipped off at 7:55 p.m. ET, nearly an hour after its original start at 7.
As a result, the second half of ESPN’s doubleheader, Game 3 of Suns-Pelicans, was pushed back to 10 p.m. ET.
