Iran is the No. 22 ranked team coming into the FIBA World Cup and is looking to put the world on notice. It will be the country’s fourth appearance after qualifying because of Australia’s victory over Kazakhstan. Iran will depend on its depth and new coaching to lead the way this summer, as they look to build off of their 23rd place finish in 2019.
Coach: Saeed Armaghani
What to Watch
Behnam Yakhchali, Arsalan Kazemi and Mohammad Jamshidi are expected to be the primary scorers for Iran in the FIBA World Cup. A recent injury could sideline veteran Hamed Haddadi, who has previously competed in three World Cups and two Olympic games.
