The reigning NBA MVP led Philadelphia to an undefeated week with averages of 36.3 points, 12.5 rebounds and five assists. Embiid’s week was highlighted by his 48-point, 11-rebound outpour against the Wizards where he scored 29 of his 48 in the third quarter alone, marking the most ever by a 76er in a single quarter. The Sixers’ 8-1 record to start 2023-24 is the team’s best mark through nine games since 2000-01.

This is the 12th Player of the Week honors for Embiid, which is the second-most in franchise history, trailing only Hall of Famer Allen Iverson (20).
