Just as the Lakers were regaining full health, Lakers big Anthony Davis has been ruled out with a fever, causing him to miss Wednesday’s game vs. the Pacers at Indiana’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

It will be his first absence of the season, stripping the Lakers of a steadying presence during this rocky, 9-10 opening. ESPN’s Dave McMenamin was first to report the news.

Davis has averaged 24.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.2 blocks through 19 games.
