NBA In-Season Tournament Tracker: Lakers win NBA Cup

Anthony Davis was unstoppable as the Lakers defeated the Pacers to win the NBA In-Season Tournament Championship.

Anthony Davis was unstoppable in the NBA In-Season Tournament Championship and LeBron James was named Tournament MVP.

The first NBA Cup belongs to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Anthony Davis was a force on both ends of the floor in leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 123-109 victory over the Indiana Pacers in the NBA In-Season Tournament Championship.

Davis finished with 41 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks, and LeBron James was named the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament MVP.

James scored 24 points with 11 rebounds and Austin Reaves added 28 points off the bench.

Tyrese Haliburton had 20 points and 11 assists for Indiana, Bennedict Mathurin also scored 20 points and Aaron Nesmith had 15.

Knockout Rounds results

The Knockout Rounds began on Dec. 4. The Quarterfinals were played in home markets, while the Semifinals and Championship were played in Las Vegas at T-Mobile Arena.


  • Sat., Dec. 9: Lakers 123, Pacers 109: Anthony Davis scores 41 points and puts in a dominant defensive performance as the Lakers defeated the Pacers to win the NBA Cup. LeBron James was named the MVP of the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament.


  • Thu., Dec. 7: Pacers 128, Bucks 119: Tyrese Haliburton registers 27 points, seven rebounds and 15 assists as Indiana continues its tournament run all the way to the title game. The Pacers will face the Lakers in the In-Season Tournament championship game.
  • Thu., Dec. 7: Lakers 133, Pelicans 89: LeBron James needed fewer than 23 minutes to put up 30 points, five rebounds and eight assists in the Lakers’ romp over the Pelicans. Anthony Davis added 16 points, 15 rebounds and five assits.


  • Mon., Dec. 4: Pacers 122, Celtics 112: Tyrese Haliburton records his first career triple-double (26 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists) and hits several clutch shots as Indiana wins pulling away to eliminate the Celtics. 
  • Mon., Dec. 4: Pelicans 127, Kings 117: Brandon Ingram (30 points, eight rebounds, six assists) and Herb Jones (23 points, 8-13 FGs) lead the Pelicans to a wire-to-wire victory against the Kings.
  • Tue., Dec. 5: Bucks 146, Knicks 122: Milwaukee surges to the Semifinals behind a 35-point, eight-rebound, 10-assist and three-steal showing from Giannis Antetokounmpo.
  • Tue., Dec. 5: Lakers 106, Suns 103: The Lakers eliminate the Suns as LeBron James (31 points, eight rebounds, 11 assists, five steals) and Anthony Davis (27 points, 15 rebounds) lead the way.

LeBron James added In-Season Tournament MVP to his resume, averaging 26.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.6 assists while shooting 56.8% from the field. The first-ever All-Tournament Team consists of James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant and Tyrese Haliburton.
