Brooklyn Nets Sign Armoni Brooks to Two-Way Contract

BROOKLYN (July 18, 2023) – The Brooklyn Nets have signed free agent guard Armoni Brooks to a two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Brooks (6’3”, 195) has appeared in 74 games (16 starts) across two seasons with the Houston Rockets (2021-22) and Toronto Raptors (2022), recording career averages of 6.9 points on 36.6 percent shooting from the field, 33.0 percent shooting from 3-point range and 75.8 percent shooting from the free-throw line, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.4 minutes per game. In his rookie season (2021) with the Rockets, Brooks appeared in 20 games (five starts), posting averages of 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 26.0 minutes per contest while shooting 40.6 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from distance. The 25-year-old also played in four playoff games with the Raptors during the 2022 postseason. Most recently, Brooks competed on Brooklyn’s Las Vegas Summer League team, notching averages of 17.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 29.6 minutes per game through five games while shooting 50.0 percent from the field, 47.6 percent from 3-point range (on 8.4 attempts per game) and 87.5 percent from the free-throw line. In addition to his NBA experience, the Texas native has logged 88 games of NBA G League experience split between the College Park Skyhawks and Rio Grande Valley Vipers, registering averages of 13.1 points on 44.0 percent shooting from the field, 38.7 percent shooting from distance and 83.6 percent shooting from the free-throw line, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 24.6 minutes per game. Brooks went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft after spending three years (2016-19) at the University of Houston, where he earned American Athletic Conference Sixth Man of the Year honors as a sophomore and All-AAC Second Team honors as a junior.
