Brooklyn Nets Tip Off 2019-20 Season at Barclays Center This Wednesday, Oct. 23

Team to host pregame celebration for fans on arena plaza

BROOKLYN - The Brooklyn Nets will tip off the 2019-20 season at Barclays Center this Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in a matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, presented by Snipes. Brooklyn-native artist SAINt JHN will perform at center court during halftime. 

A special pregame celebration will take place on Barclays Center’s Resorts World Casino NYC Plaza beginning at 5:00 p.m. Nets Legends Albert King, Buck Williams, Kerry Kittles and Otis Birdsong will be present to meet fans. The event will feature music provided by DJ Jon Blak, performances by Team Hype, the Brooklyn Nets Beats drumline, a mini basketball court and swag giveaway contests from the Brooklyn Nets Basketball Academy. BMX athlete Matthias Dandois will also be on-site with Red Bull, and there will be product giveaways from KIND Snacks and Starbucks.

Arena doors will open for the game at 6:00 p.m., and fans are encouraged to take their seats by 7:15 p.m. for the opening ceremony, which includes a national anthem performance by Brooklyn-based choir, Forward Ave. Each guest will receive a complimentary rally towel.

A limited number of tickets are still available online at brooklynnets.com and the American Express Box Office at Barclays Center. Fans are encouraged to post photos and follow along on social media throughout the night using #WeGoHard. 

Guests will notice new concessions offerings at the arena this year including The Hershey Bar serving both non-alcoholic and spiked cocktails like Hershey’s and Reese’s non-alcoholic milkshakes, frozen Jolly Rancher drinks and chocolate martinis; and East Wind Snack Shop serving some of New York City’s best dumplings.

Nets fans can download the Brooklyn Nets app for the latest content and stats from the team throughout the season. Soon to launch within the Nets App is 15 Seconds of Fame; a feature where fans who appear on the arena’s centerhung video board can view and download content of their appearance directly to their smartphone.

Fans who are unable to attend the game can watch on YES Network or listen on WFAN 101.9 FM.
