Preview: Nets vs. Wizards

NETS VS. WIZARDS

The Brooklyn Nets face the Washington Wizards for the third and final time this season. The Nets are still looking for their first win over the Wizards this season and are looking to snap an eight-game losing streak.

KILPATRICK’S CAREER HIGH:

Sean Kilpatrick had a career-high 26 points on Sunday night, his second 20-point night of the season. Kilpatrick shot 10-of-18 Sunday, including 3-of-7 from 3-point range, and has scored in double-digits in 17 of his 20 games as a Net this season.

THOMAS ROBINSON LEAVES GAME:

Thomas Robinson left Sunday’s contest – a 129-105 loss to the Indiana Pacers – with a sore right knee. The early exit ended Robinson’s streak of six straight double-doubles. Robinson had averaged 15.3 points and 13 rebounds over that six-game stretch, including a career-high 23 points and 10 rebounds against the Wizards on Wednesday.

WIZARDS MISS PLAYOFFS:

The NBA playoffs are set and the Washington Wizards are on the outside looking in.

The Wizards (39-41) are four games back of the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers for the final two playoff spots.

WALL OUT:

John Wall has missed three straight games with a right knee injury and his status for the final two games of the season – including Monday’s game against the Nets – is in doubt. Wall is averaging 19.9 ppg, 10.2 apg and 4.9 rpg. The Wizards point guard also missed the most recent Wizards-Nets game on April 6, a 121-103 Washington win.

BEAL’S STATUS:

Bradley Beal left Washington’s game on Sunday night with a sore pelvis and did not return. Beal only played eight minutes in the Wizards’ 113-98 win over Charlotte and if he can’t play, Marcus Thornton and Garrett Temple will likely see their roles increased. Beal dropped 25 points against the Nets on Wednesday.
