The Detroit Pistons will welcome a struggling Denver Nuggets team to town as the Nuggets look to snap their four-game losing streak. The Pistons are dealing with significant injuries, especially in the front court. However, James Wiseman has flourished for the Pistons since his acquisition at the trade deadline from the Warriors.

In the 12 games Wiseman has played for Detroit, he is averaging 13.1 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Over the last five games, Wiseman is averaging 10 rebounds per game while going over this projection of 8.5 rebounds in four out of the last five games.

Furthermore, the Denver Nuggets are struggling to keep opposing centers off the glass. Over the last two weeks, the Nuggets are allowing opposing centers to average 16.4 rebounds per game. With the injuries the Pistons are dealing with, they have no choice but to give Wiseman meaningful minutes, and it is paying off. I like over 8.5 rebounds for Wiseman and would play it up to 9.5.

Pick: James Wiseman Over 8.5 Rebounds

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Over 30.5 Points (-115)

Spread Raptors -6

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder will make their trip up to his hometown of Toronto in a non-conference battle versus the Toronto Raptors. For the season, SGA is averaging 31.3 points per game but has been even better over his last five games. He is averaging 36 points per game and has gone over this projection of 30.5 points in five straight games.

Furthermore, SGA has scored 35 or more points in four out of the last five games. Despite not going over this projection in his career against the Raptors, SGA is in a more feature role for the Thunder this season. He is averaging 20.3 shot attempts per game and has a true shooting percentage of 62.5% in 2022-23.

SGA thrives on scoring in the paint, and over the last three games, the Raptors have struggled in that area as they have allowed 60.3 points in the paint per game. I expect the scoring dominance to continue tonight for SGA’s homecoming, and I like this number up to 32.5.

Pick: SGA Over 30.5 Points
