LA County Department of Public Health to Host Vaccine Clinics at Lakers Home Games

The LA County Department of Public Health is partnering with the Los Angeles Lakers and Crypto.com Arena to provide staff and ticketed guests with in-arena vaccinations for both the updated COVID-19 booster and influenza vaccine prior to games. Clinics will launch Friday, Nov. 18, and will be offered throughout the month of December at Lakers home games.

The vaccination site will be located near Blaze Pizza on the main concourse, near the 11th St. Entrance. Vaccinations will be available when doors open until 30 minutes after games begin. Guests who receive a vaccine and/or booster will be treated to giveaway items.

According to the LA County Department of Public Health, the updated COVID-19 booster can protect against both the original virus that causes COVID-19 and the more recently spreading Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants – and is strongly recommended that everyone five years of age or older get the updated COVID-19 booster at least two months after any COVID-19 vaccine or booster dose. Public Health also encourages everyone six months and older be immunized against the flu. Anyone can contract the flu, especially people at high risk of developing serious flu-related complications including people 65 years and older, pregnant women, children younger than five years, and people with chronic medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, or HIV).
