Theo Robertson to Join Cal Coaching Staff

After spending a year with the Lakers, player development coach Theo Robertson is now ready to return to his roots as an assistant for his alma mater, the California Golden Bears.

At the conclusion of the Lakers’ season, Robertson will transition to Cal and serve under new head coach Wyking Jones.

Robertson’s roots are in the Bay Area, where he was born and raised.

His five-year collegiate career with the Bears ended in 2010 when he was named Second Team All-Pac-12 and led the conference in 3-point percentage while helping the school to its first league title in 50 years.

Robertson also finished with the highest career 3-point percentage in Cal history (45.3).

Two years later, he returned to the university as a graduate manager and director of operations for the basketball program.

Then he spent time as the video intern and video coordinator for the Golden State Warriors, winning the 2015 championship while getting to know Luke Walton.

Walton brought the 30-year-old Robertson with him to Los Angeles when he took over as head coach of the Lakers. In addition to his role as player development coach, Robertson notably also coached the team’s Summer League squad in its last game of the 2016 Las Vegas event.
