Divac Hits Big Shot

Vlade Divac banged on the hardwood for the better part of 16 NBA seasons. The first seven of those wearing the purple and gold of the Lakers before being traded to Charlotte, in the deal that brought Kobe Bryant to Los Angeles, and eventually finishing with one more season in Los Angeles after six-year stint in Sacramento.

During that time the seven-footer from Serbia launched up 426 three-pointers and saw just 100 of them splash down successfully (23.5%).

On Tuesday night Vlade had just one shot. And he made the most of it.

Between the third and fourth quarters of the Lakers win over the Golden State Warriors, Divac donned a red MGM Grand t-shirt and received a warm welcome from the Lakers faithful as he walked out to center court. After being introduced all it took was three dribbles, two steps and one heave to blow the top off STAPLES Center.

In true Laker fashion, Vlade made the celebrity rounds, celebrating with Jack Nicholson and Jerry West before accepting the giant check worth $90,000, which will be divided between the Lakers Youth Foundation and a charity of Divac's choosing.

It won't go down in the official record books, but congratulations on #101 Vlade!!
