Lakers Staff Teams Up for LA River Clean-up

On Saturday, May 10th the LA Lakers teamed up with Friends of the LA River (FOLAR) to clean up the Compton Creek section of the LA River. The LA River is over 50 miles long, running from the San Fernando Valley to the ocean in Long Beach. The Lakers staff and other FOLAR volunteers were able to pull hundreds of pounds of trash from the river, everything from batteries and fast food wrappers to shopping cards and car parts. FOLAR was founded in 1986 to protect and restore the natural and historic heritage of the Los Angeles River.
