The Memphis Grizzlies today announced an official partnership with Uber, leveraging technology to make sure fans have a safe ride to and from Grizzlies games and FedExForum events, with added perks and promotions for Uber-using Grizzlies fans.
Uber will become the team’s official ridesharing partner, and beginning tomorrow, will power the Grizzlies’ ‘Game Day Live’ livestream on Grizzlies.com featuring FOX Sports Southeast Sideline Reporter Rob Fischer and Grizzlies Radio Play-By-Play Announcer Eric Hasseltine. Additionally, fans that request an Uber with the destination as “FedExForum” will see promotions via the Uber app for discounted offerings from Bleu Restaurant at the Westin Memphis Beale Street, located in front of FedExForum.
“We’ve always taken a ‘fans-first’ approach in the way we manage Grizzlies games and FedExForum events, ensuring that our fans experience the utmost in safety and customer service,” said Jason Wexler, Grizzlies president of business operations. “By partnering with Uber, we’re offering our fans a safe and reliable ride to and from the arena, and encouraging a socially responsible means of transportation through the ridesharing concept.”
An added benefit of the partnership, all new riders with Uber are able to receive $15 off their first ride to or from a Grizzlies game by entering the code GRINDCITY.
