Overview

Early in Tarik Biberovic’s career, he drew attention at the 2016-17 Adidas Next Generation Tournament with Bosnia’s OKK Spars club. In the four games, he averaged 17.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 blocks. He also competed at the 2016 FIBA U16 European Championship. He signed with Fenerbahce, a Turkish team that plays in the EuroLeague, in 2019 at the age of 18. He averaged 13.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in 13.1 minutes across 36 appearances in 2022-23.

Analysis

While Biberovic’s athleticism is relatively average, his shooting is good enough to entice NBA general managers, though it may be in a draft-and-stash capacity. As for his 3-point shooting, he shot 44.3 percent in 2020-21, 41.8 percent in 2021-22 and 34.8 percent in 2022-23 (as of his NBA Draft date). While he’s shown some versatility on the wing overseas, he may be limited to the power forward and small forward spots in the NBA, but he shouldn’t simply be a standstill shooter.

Projection

It appears Biberovic will be a draft-and-stash candidate who may need more than one extra year overseas. However, if he can work his way into more playing time and develop trust with the coaching staff, he could develop upside in the NBA as more than just a shooter. An NBA comparison may depend on his development track, but there are shades of both Bojan and Bogdan Bogdanovic to his game.
