About Jarrell Brantley
Jarrell Brantley is a unique power forward with impressive strength and budding jump shooting ability. A lightly regarded prospect in the high school class of 2015 out of Notre Dame Prep, Brantley nonetheless made an instant impact at Charleston averaging 11.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game as a true freshman. Earning All-CAA honors in each of his four collegiate seasons, the South Carolina native improved steadily each year averaging 19.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game as a senior solidifying himself as one of the most versatile forwards in the mid-major ranks.
- Not especially tall for a power forward measured at 6’6.5 in shoes at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament but has a terrific 7’1 wingspan and an imposing 252-pound frame to go along with nice agility.
- Did a little bit of everything for the Cougars last season running the floor, attacking mismatches, and scoring from the inside and out without off the ball. Was given significant freedom to attack one-on-one, and impacted the game in a variety of ways with his unique combination of length, strength, and floor game.
- Has good tools defensively with his combination of agility and strength. Holds his own guarding the ball in the post and on the perimeter, but has room to improve off the ball. Makes some plays by virtue of his length and is a very capable rebounder when dialed in.
- Allowed 0.861 points per Isolation possession and 0.804 points per Post Up possessionlast season flashing some versatility.
