GRIFFIN (KNEE) SITS OUT PRACTICE

On the play, Griffin leapt for a dunk attempt that would have tied the game with 3.7 seconds left but was fouled by reserve forward Louis Amundson, who rotated to the strong side on the play. Griffin fell to the floor and briefly clutched his knee before heading to the free throw line.

“Blake hurt his knee yesterday, nothing bad… but he tweaked it,” Rivers said. “On the dunk attempt, he said he did it going up, so he’s out [of practice].”

Griffin, J.J. Redick (left thigh contusion), Matt Barnes (sore left calf) and Reggie Bullock (sore right knee) did not practice Thursday. Rivers joked that with only 12 available players, including just five guards, he might suit up and practice with the team.

The Clippers practice again Friday before embarking on a three-game road trip that begins Saturday in Salt Lake City.
