Midseason Review | Montrezl Harrell

Montrezl Harrell has continued his ascent as one of the top bench players in the league in his second season with the Clippers. Prior to this season, Harrell had scored 20+ points nine times in his three-year career; he already has 18 such games this season.

Here are his top five performances of the season so far:

November 19th: 25 PTS | 11 REB | 5 STL | 2 BLK | 15-18 FT

Harrell receives a lot of attention for his blocks, and deservedly so, but he has also become adept at generating steals on the defensive end. Coming into this season, he never had more than two steals in a single game; he has had four such games this season.

October 26th: 30 PTS | 6 REB | 2 STL | 2 BLK | 8-13 FG | 14-15 FT

Harrell recorded his career-high of 30 points against his former team in October. His FT% of 93.3% is the highest single-game mark of his career with at least 10 attempts.

January 8th: 23 PTS | 11 REB | 5 AST | 2 STL | 9-13 FG

Harrell has made it an effort to improve his playmaking this season, and it showed against the Hornets in early January. His five assists were the second-most of his career.

November 10th: 26 PTS | 9 REB | 9-12 FG | 8-11 FT

Coming into this season, Harrell had four career games with 25 or more points scored – he already has five such games this season. He was a big contributor in the Clippers’ overtime win against the Bucks this November.

December 26th: 22 PTS | 9 REB | 5 BLK | 2 STL | 8-12 FG

The Kings paid the price for going at Harrell around the rim in their December matchup, as he tied his career-high with five blocks. He also scored an efficient 22 points, while grabbing 9 rebounds and swiping a couple of steals.
