Los Cavaliers terminaron la pre temporada en casa de Ohio State University con derrota frente a Los Wizards de Washington en un partido en el que por primera vez desde el juego 7 de las Finales Los Cavs arrancaron con su cuadro titular. Kyrie Irving puso en dispar su manejo de balón para dejarle el balón a Tristan Thompson que termino la jugada clavándola a dos manos.

(On if he is satisfied with the outcome of the preseason): “Yeah. Everybody came out injury-free. Kyrie got a little (injured) but it’s nothing serious. With the older group that we have, we just got everyone out injury free and now we’re ready to start the regular season.”

(On what the team is looking to improve on heading into the season): “We just want to continue to hone in on our game, both offensively and defensively. We’ve got a week to get ready for game one, but we’re going to learn throughout the whole season. It’s not going to come together in six days before opening day. It’s a process for us. We understand that, and if we follow that we’ll be fine.”

(On where the team is at heading into the season): “I think we’re in a good place. We’ve had glimpses of what we’re capable of. I feel like we’re in good shape. We’ve had great practices and we’re going to continue to get better throughout the next week and be ready to go on ring night.”

(On tonight’s performance by the starters): “These guys are here for a reason and it’s a testament to their character and pride. These guys were just thrusted into this position. They haven’t had an opportunity to practice together in this way and they are doing everything on the fly. These guys are going up against other team's starters and they are doing more than just holding their own. I think everyone needs to take notice and realize how good these young guys are.”

Los Cavs perdieron su segundo partido de pretemporada al caer en casa 119 - 94 frente a Los Raptors. No todas fueron malas noticias para Los Cavs ya que vieron el regreso a la alineación titular de Tristan Thompson que inmediatamente mostró de los que es capaz al conseguir un rebote un ofensivo seguido por una clavada a dos manos sobre la defensa de Toronto.

(On tonight’s game): “(Toronto) approached it like a regular season game. I thought they played hard. Offensively, they were very sharp. Defensively, they were good outside of that first quarter when we got it going early. Their point guards hurt us tonight – all three of them. They played at a different pace and a different speed, and they approached it like a regular season game. We approached it like a preseason game.”

(On how he’s maintained great shape going into the season): “Just taking care of my body and knowing exactly what I’m going to be needing to do throughout the season. But also, just being really smart about it – just being efficient. I’m not trying to kill myself – at times, I can be my worst enemy just going extremely hard and doing extra things. But my strength and conditioning coach has been great with limiting that. Our training staff has done a great job as well in practices and T. Lue has his fair share of days when we go extremely hard or we have great practices. Yesterday we had a great practice. We scrimmaged for most of it and then we come into today and I feel like it’s just a test of your body. T. Lue just wants to see how guys are going to react.”

(On what the second unit brings to the table): “Channing (Frye) is great at the pick-and-pop and at the five. That’s definitely a special gift that he has and it’s big for our team. But with him out, you’ve got Cory (Jefferson), John (Holland) and Bird (Chris Andersen) to try a pick-and-roll and get the ball moving. It’s preseason, and like you said, Coach Lue is experimenting with things so when the season starts we know what we can throw out there.”

(On keeping the score close): “We had guys that were going to play hard. We have guys who are trying to make the team, playing scrappy. They all played hard and competed. That’s what you want … JJ (James Jones) was good, as usual. Kay (Felder) got it going a little bit in the first half early. I liked Markel. Markel Brown was really good defensively with back cuts, taking his open shots. Jordan (McRae) just struggled with his shot tonight, but he got to the free throw line 14 times, getting downhill, getting to the basket. Guys just played well all around.”

(Did scoring over Edy Tavares give you confidence?): “Definitely. It just means keep going until he blocks it. That’s what that means – just keep going, keep attacking.”

(On how he’s going to figure out the remaining roster spots): “They’ll all get a chance to play next game, so we’ll see a lot of them. We’ll see a lot of them (play) in Chicago. They’ll get a lot of minutes. Right now, to pick up our offense and defense that our team has been doing for the last two years is going to be tough…They’re doing a good job. The effort is there. The energy is there. It’s just a few of the schemes they have to get better at.”

(On training camp): "We're right where we should be. It's two weeks into the season. We've put our system back in. We have a lot of guys that returned, so it was an easy transition from that point, but we still need to continue to work our habits every day and we've been doing that so far."

(On the importance of preseason): “I actually am a fan of preseason this year – just kind of getting games off and getting as much rest as I can before heading into the hectic regular season. We want to be as prepared as we can be. I know T Lue (Tyronn Lue) and our medical staff do a great job of just resting us when we can, but also just making sure that we’re getting enough reps in at practice offensively and defensively.”

(On how Jordan McRae and Kay Felder give the team a boost): “I think Jordan’s ability to score the basketball and get to the free throw line and Kay’s speed. There’s no substitution for speed. (Kay) can get to the basket, turn the corner, get in the paint and make the right pass or the right play. Having those two young guys added to our old mix is pretty good for us.”

(On takeaways from tonight): “With (about) eight and a half (minutes) left in the fourth quarter, we had 27 assists and only 11 turnovers. I don’t know what we finished with, but that’s a heck of a ratio for the first preseason game. No matter who is on the floor for us, to have only 11 turnovers with eight minutes to go in the game and 27 assists – that’s how we want to play ball. We want to move the ball, share the ball, get guys open and take care of it. We did that.”

(On whether he sees himself having high scoring games during the regular season): “During the regular season, it’s not going to be my job to score. Bron (LeBron James) and Ky (Kyrie Irving) – those are going to be the guys that we rely upon. If I’m able to knock down some open shots and get in a flow when I can, then I will.”

Los Cavaliers de Cleveland se coronaron campeones de LA NBA por primera vez en su historia después de derrotar a Los Warriors 93 - 89 en el juego 7 de las Finales. LeBron James se coronó como el jugador mas valioso al conseguir un Triple-Doble con 26 puntos, 11 rebotes y 11 asistencias. El Duo de Kyrie Y LeBron fue clave en los últimos minutos con el marcador empatado a 89. Primero LeBron James bloqueó a Andre Iguadola con menos de dos minutos por jugar en el encuentro para mantener el marcador igual a 89.

Q. Tyronn, usually it's the case where coaches are at the start of this thing. Can you talk about why you're coming in here so late and what you've been up to over the last X-number of minutes?

A: "They pushed me back. They kept pushing me back. So I went out on the court and did some great interviews with NBA TV with Grant Hill and Steve Smith, Isiah Thomas. Then I had A.C. So just some different interviews, but they kept pushing me back, and now I'm here. I'm glad it's empty in here, too. That's great."

Q. LeBron, first off, congratulations on the win. So this being your third title, there's obviously a lot of footnotes that separate this, but does this championship resonate with you as being a little bit extra special being that it's for the city of Cleveland, for the state of Ohio where you grew up?

A: "Absolutely. Just knowing what our city has been through, northeast Ohio has been through, as far as our sports and everything for the last 50-plus years. You could look back to the Earnest Byner fumble, Elway going 99 yards, to Jose Mesa not being able to close out in the bottom of the ninth to the Cavs went to The Finals -- I was on that team -- in 2007, us getting swept, and then last year us losing 4-2. And so many more stories."

Q. I want to know what were you thinking before you hit that clutch three in the last minute of the fourth quarter.

A: "I'm just hoping it goes in. But when it does, I'm thinking about getting Klay and Steph. Those guys have been kind of leading that three-point line the whole entire series, so that's all I'm really thinking about is just getting to those guys after that shot. It was 89-89 for a good portion of the game, especially in that fourth quarter, so I was just thinking the next team that scores has a great chance at winning the championship, and I hope that we can be the team that's on that end."

Q. Can you talk a little about why Tyronn Lue was the right guy for this team to take it to this point and how maybe you saw him make that job his own over the last four months?

A: "He just has a quiet confidence about him. He's very self-assured, sure of himself in all the right ways. There's no negative connotation in that or any sort of saying that's the wrong thing. He just is who he is, and we followed him from the very beginning. We knew what he was capable of."

Q. Did you ever think you were going to get to this point?

A: "I mean, I thought about it a lot, honestly, getting to this point. The more my career went on it kind of dwindled, and it was more about just playing the game. I've been playing this game fortunately for me since I was three years old. That's one of the reasons why this game is so special to me. Today is so special to me. It's on Father's Day. My dad put the ball in my crib."

Q: How do you feel about returning home to Cleveland?

A: "I can’t wait to see Cleveland. I will tell you, they have the best fans I’ve ever seen. I swear they were louder more when we were down 3-1 because they wanted things to be more difficult. They never lost faith and I have to give them all the credit."

Jugada del Partido Finals Game 6 vs. Golden State

Los Cavaliers de Cleveland están a una victoria de hacer historia en LA NBA y de conseguir el primer título para la franquicia al derrotar a Los Warriors de Golden State 115 - 101 en una gran noche de LeBron James que volvió a anotar 41 puntos y consiguió su 5to Doble-Doble de estas Finales al repartir 11 asistencias y ademas consiguió 8 rebotes. LeBron hizo de todo, en el primer tiempo fue clave para que Los Cavaliers tomaran ventaja hasta de 22 puntos. En la primera mitad le dio a Los Cavs la primera ventaja de doble cifras con esta clavada en transición.

Y en el último cuarto tomo control del partido andando 17 puntos con 4 asistencias, 3 rebotes y 2 tapones.  El Doble-Doble, su 5to de la serie llegó con esta asistencia para Tristan Thompson y después rechazó violentamente a Steph Curry parea su segundo tapón del cuarto y tercero de la noche.

Q. Now you have won two games in a row against Golden State. We know it's hard to win a game in The Finals and you have proven you guys can win on their court. So do you think you have built greater momentum in the championship run?

A: "I just thought we stuck with our game plan, being aggressive and physical defensively, and I thought being aggressive offensively attacking. I thought in the second quarter we got away from it. We kind of slowed the ball down in the second quarter, which made us stagnant and made us get some shot-clock violations, getting late to the shot clock. But for the most part I thought we did a great job, just continued to attack in transition, in the half court, and make them guard us."

Q. LeBron, the last two games your efficiency rating is off the charts, and that's something that you pride yourself on. What's been the key to being so efficient and having back-to-back 41-point games?

A: "I give a lot of credit to my teammates and my coaching staff to put me in position to be successful. I mean, without the ball moving, without the screens being set, without the coaching staff putting out the game plans for us offensively then, what I've been able to do, it doesn't happen. So those guys definitely get the credit."

Q. Kyrie, curious just about now that you are in Game 7, how you keep the moment from becoming too big? I mean, this is the biggest game you've ever been in and after all that you've been through personally, how do you separate from that and just kind of focus on what you need to do out there on the floor?

A: "By just accepting it, don't shy away from it. It's Game 7. All I've done over my life is watched a lot of Game 7s and seen how guys come out, seeing the sway of the game, just watch a lot of film on it. But now that I actually get to play in one and experience it, it's just I'm ready to live in it, and just hoping we come out with a win on the other end of it."

Q. Tristan, what do you think allowed you to be so successful tonight? What was your mindset coming into the game?

A: "Like LeBron and Kyrie said, be a star in your role. Be a star in your role, and for me that's high energy, use my motor, just play hard. Play hard be relentless on the glass. And that's what I bring to this team. That's my job, just be a star in your role, and I try to do that every night."

Q: How much did you guys have to dig down to keep this season going?

A: "We definitely had to dig. Different guys had to step up. We had unbelievable performances from LeBron and Kyrie the other night in [Game 5]. Tonight, it was a full team effort. LeBron was special once again. He’s been doing that all year for us. That’s just who he is. He picks us up and wasn’t going to let us lose."

A: "Yeah, I like our chances. If we keep playing the way we’re playing now, I like our chances. More than anything, Game 7 can be about effort. We have to play the same way we played and try and get as many 50-50 balls as possible."
