Quinn Cook was named MVP of the 2017 NBA Development League All-Star Game presented by Kumho Tire after leading the East to a 105-100 victory Saturday afternoon in New Orleans.  Cook’s award is the first in Canton Charge history.

The reigning NBA D-League Rookie of the Year tallied a game-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting (70%) from the field while dishing a game-high 12 assists and grabbing seven rebounds in a game-high 25 minutes for Jerry Stackhouse’s Eastern Conference team.

A 10-0 run capped by a Vander Blue layup cut the East lead to 101-100 with 1:13 remaining.  Maine’s Marcus Georges-Hunt pushed the lead to three with a layup of his own.  Following a missed three point attempt by the West’s Blue, Cook drilled an 18 foot jumper with 13.8 seconds remaining to seal the East win at 105-100.

Canton Charge teammate Eric Moreland impressed in his All-Star debut, narrowly missing out on his accustomed double-double by scoring nine points and grabbing nine rebounds off the bench.

Cook currently ranks second in scoring, posting 26.2 points per game and fifth in assists, dropping 6.2 per contest.  Moreland ranks second in the NBA D-League in rebounding, nabbing 11.6 boards per game.

Canton comes back from the All-star break to wrap up a six-game road trip at the Delaware 87ers (Philadelphia 76ers) on Wednesday, February 22nd at 7:00 p.m.  Groups of 20 or more can take part in unforgettable fan experiences such as halftime performances, anthem buddies, high five tunnel, benchwarmers, and more! Several members of the Cavaliers Game Presentation Team have been invited by the NBA to bring their high energy, hard work ethic and “All For One. One For All” spirit on the road to participate in the 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend festivities in New Orleans, Louisiana this month.

Three familiar personalities from The Q will make the trip including Ahmaad Crump, in-arena host and hype man (4th NBA All-Star Weekend appearance); Olivier Sedra, public address announcer (second NBA All-Star Weekend appearance); and Cavalier Girl Crystal (first NBA All-Star Weekend appearance). All three will bring their energy to the NBA All-Star Practice and NBA D-League All-Star Game presented by Kumho Tire on Saturday, February 18th. Crystal will also take part in various events throughout the weekend with dancers from around the league.

Joining them are another trio of Cavaliers Game Presentation Team members who play crucial roles in producing the award-winning in-arena experience at The Q. Conrad Bradburn, Director of Game Operations; Adam Hines, Manager of Game Operations; and AJ Johnson, Senior Producer of QTV will collectively help produce and stage-manage the NBA All-Star Practice and NBA D-League All-Star Game presented by Kumho Tire on Saturday. Johnson will also assist with the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Friday, among other events. This is Bradburn and Johnson’s first NBA All-Star Weekend and Hines’ second invitation.

Additionally, Kerry Woloszynek, Cavs Director of Fan Development, has been invited to assist with Jr. NBA initiatives including Jr. NBA Reporter, Jr. NBA Day, Jr. NBA Leadership Council Meeting, Gatorade NBA All-Star Invitational and Jr. NBA Global Meeting. Woloszynek, who oversees Cavs Youth Sports and Wine &amp; Gold Nation fan club initiatives in Cleveland will feel right at home assisting with Jr. NBA events throughout the weekend in New Orleans.

The NBA All-Star Practice begins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18th, followed by the NBA D-League All-Star Game presented by Kumho Tire at 2:30 p.m. Both events can be viewed on NBA TV.
