Whammer, the Cleveland Cavaliers beloved first mascot, will have his own bobblehead giveaway at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse as part of the Cavs ongoing 50th Season Celebration. All fans in attendance for the Cavs vs. Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, December 20th at 7:00 p.m. will receive the collectable Whammer bobblehead presented by Discount Drug Mart.
Whammer made his debut as the Cavs mascot on November 9th, 1995 and ruled the court at Gund Arena until 2003, when the Cavs current mascot Moondog arrived on the scene. Since then, the two have never seen eye-to-eye, but both felt the Cavs 50th Season was the perfect opportunity to get it together and Whammer is excited to join mascot duo Moondog and Sir CC again Friday night!
The Cavaliers are welcoming the sunglass-wearing polar bear back to Cleveland with his very own limited edition bobblehead. The bobblehead will featured Whammer outfitted in a #1 Classic Edition uniform, holding up the number one to cement his title as the Cavs first ever mascot.
The Cavs mascots have also invited some of their friends from across Ohio to join in on the exciting Mascot Night antics, including:
- Sully (Cleveland Monsters)
- Pozzie (Canton Charge)
- Slider, Ketchup, Mustard and Onion (Cleveland Indians)
- Chomps (Cleveland Browns)
- Skipper (Lake County Captains)
- Stinger (Columbus Blue Jackets)
Before the game, fans can take pictures with this distinguished and loveable crew in front of the Cavs Championship Court Wall in the Atrium near the Sherwin-Williams Entrance.
