Cavs and Monsters Encourage Fans to Join Them in Donating Toys

With the holiday season upon us, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Lake Erie Monsters are donating toys, and encouraging their fans to join them, to help make it a more festive time for underprivileged children in Northeast Ohio. Now through December 11th, the two teams will be holding their annual Toy Drive, presented by Step2, as part of the Cavaliers Season of Giving, presented by Nestle Baking.

Beginning with tonight’s (Wednesday) Monsters game and Saturday’s Cavs game, fans are asked to participate in the Toy Drive by bringing new, unwrapped toys to Quicken Loans Arena. Collection bins will be set up at the entrances of The Q for all home games for the two teams between now and December 11th. All donated toys will then be distributed to non-profit organizations throughout Northeast Ohio that work with underserved children.

Fans can donate toys at the following home Cavs games: Nov. 28th vs. Brooklyn; Dec. 1st vs. Washington; Dec. 8th vs. Portland.

Toy donations will be accepted at the following home Monsters games: Nov. 25th and 27th vs. Manitoba; Dec. 3rd and 4th vs. Iowa; Dec. 11th vs. Chicago.

Step2, the largest American manufacturer of preschool and toddler toys and based locally in Streetsboro, Ohio, will also donate $5,000 in product to the Toy Drive.
