From Kyle Korver to Deron Williams to maybe Andrew Bogut: How'd the Cavs' David Griffin do it?

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Deron Williams will arrive in town and sign with the Cavs Monday but may not play against the Milwaukee Bucks, a source told cleveland.com.

Finally, Cleveland has its replacement for Matthew Dellavedova, and a five-time All-Star at that, but he might not quite be ready to play against Delly's new team.

In the near term, it would mean the Cavs will have to rely on rookie Kay Felder and the out-of-place DeAndre Liggins to backup Kyrie Irving for one more game, and that Cleveland could be quite shorthanded against Milwaukee with the status of LeBron James (strep throat) and Kyle Korver (right knee bruise). - CLICK HERE to read full story.

Marla Ridenour: Cavs General Manager David Griffin’s restocking plan nearly complete as he and LeBron James get what they want
Author: Marla Ridenour
Publication: Akron Beacon Journal

CLEVELAND: Cavaliers General Manager David Griffin had a plan all along, even if LeBron James sounded as if he were questioning it when he called for more playmakers last month.

Cavs coach Tyronn Lue had faith in Griffin’s strategy, even if his superstar did not. In the wake of the flap over James’ comments following a Jan. 23 loss at New Orleans, Lue said he believed the Cavs had enough to defend their NBA title and tried to put the emphasis on playing better as a unit. But he also said he knew Griffin would do the best he could to make the Cavs better.

Lue and Griffin realized bolstering the roster would take patience, with some moves having to wait until after the Feb. 23 trade deadline. He knew the Cavs might not come off as bold, likely wouldn’t make headlines with a trade for a player like the Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony who wasn’t the right fit. - CLICK HERE to read full story.
