Cavs’ Moondog First Professional Mascot to Compete In Half Marathon Event Sunday, September 11th

All part of the 6th Annual Cleveland Clinic Sports Health River Run Half Marathon,
this Moondog’ first is not an unusual athletic attempt from the innovative canine. Like
his namesake (Cleveland Radio DJ Alan Freed), Moondog is pushing the limits of his
profession. Mascots are often used as the official starters for races and walks, but are
never seen crossing the finish line.

The inline skate is limited to 250 registered inline skaters from Wallace Lake in Berea,
north to Memorial Fields in Rocky River. The race will use ChampionChip Timing, in
which participants will attach chips to their skate boots that judge official time.
