Game Summary

The Cavaliers return to Quicken Loans Arena for their final home contest of the season when they face the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Tipoff is at 9:00 p.m. ET.

The Wine and Gold trail the series 3-2 and will try to send the series back to Oakland for a seventh and final game on Friday night. Cleveland has won 27 of its last 30 games at The Q.

Including the 2014-15 regular season and postseason, the Cavs have played at least 100 games for the second time in franchise history. Game 6 against the Warriors will be the Cavs’ 102nd game of the season, tying the team’s highest mark in 2006-07.

The Cavs swiped 10 steals in Game 5 and have now had double-digit steals in three of the five Finals games.

Cleveland connected on 12 three-pointers in Game 5, their most this series. In the playoffs, the Cavs have made at least 10 triples on 10 occasions and are averaging 9.9 three-point makes per game.

In Game 5, the Warriors outscored the Cavs 19-7 after the Wine and Gold pulled within one point (85-84) with 5:10 remaining in the game.

Stephen Curry shot 7-13 (.538) from beyond the arc and led the Warriors with 37 points and seven rebounds in 42 minutes. Draymond Green tallied 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists in 36 minutes.

LeBron James is 12 points away from becoming just the 6th player in NBA history to score 5,000 career playoff points. In the 2015 NBA Finals, James has four double-doubles (two triple-doubles) and is averaging a series-high 36.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, a series-high 8.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 45.6 minutes per game.

LeBron posted his 3rd triple-double of the 2015 Playoffs (14th of playoff career) with game highs of 40 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists in 45 minutes against the Warriors in Game 5. James became the 2nd player in NBA Finals history to score 40 points in a triple-double (Jerry West, 1969). It was his 2nd triple-double in this year’s Finals, his second time posting multiple triple-doubles in an NBA Finals series (2013). The only other players to post at least two triple-doubles in a single NBA Finals round are Magic Johnson (1984, 1985, 1991), Larry Bird (1986) and Wilt Chamberlain (1967).

Tristan Thompson, who is leading the NBA Finals with 13.0 rebounds per game, has grabbed double-digit rebounds in six straight contests and in 12 of the last 14 outings. In Game 5 at Golden State, Thompson notched his third straight double-double (8th of the postseason) with a playoff career-best 19 points on 6-11 (.545) shooting from the field, 10 rebounds (five offensive) and two steals and two blocks in 40 minutes.
