Game Summary

After going 4-1 on a five-game homestand, the Wine and Gold hit the road to face three Eastern Conference opponents, beginning with the New York Knicks tonight at Madison Square Garden. Tipoff is at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Cleveland (9-7) comes into tonight’s matchup on a season-high tying four-game winning streak after defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 111-108 on Tuesday night at The Q.

During the streak, the Cavs are averaging 109.8 points on .523 shooting and 23.8 assists, while holding opponents to 91.5 points on .428 shooting. Cleveland is winning by an average margin of 18.3 points.

New York (4-15) enters tonight's contest on a five-game losing streak after Tuesday's 98-93 loss to Brooklyn.

The Knicks, who visit Charlotte on Friday, are 0-4 in the first half of back-to-back games.

Head-to-Head Matchup

This is the second of three regular season meetings between the Cavs and Knicks. The two teams last met in Cleveland’s home opener on Oct. 30 at The Q where all five Cavs starters scored in double figures, led by Kyrie Irving, who paced the Wine and Gold with 22 points on 8-15 (.533) shooting, a game-high tying seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and one block in 43 minutes.

The last time the Cavs played in Madison Square Garden on March 23 of last season, Cleveland shot a blistering .609 (42-69) from the field, which was their highest field goal percentage since March 21, 1996 vs. Houston (37-59, .627). The Wine and Gold defeated the Knicks, 106-100, and missed only seven shots in the second half (23-30, .767) and hit a 12-14 (.857) clip in the fourth quarter.
