Cleveland Cavaliers Public Address Announcer Selected as Announcer for 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China

Olivier Sedra, the public address announcer for the Cleveland Cavaliers, has been selected by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) to be one of two announcers for the basketball events at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Sedra, who hails from Montreal, Canada and speaks fluent French, joined the Cavaliers in 2006. With his powerful voice, combined with flawless execution and knowledge of the game of basketball, Sedra soon became recognized as one of the exceptionally talented PA announcers that serve the NBA. The NBA recommended him to the FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, for consideration as an Olympic announcer.

“The Cavaliers organization is very proud of Olivier’s selection to announce the 2008 Olympic basketball games,” said Cavaliers President Len Komoroski. “He is an outstanding talent and a great person and we are happy to share with the world something Cavaliers fans already know—that we have one of the best and brightest in the field right here in Cleveland.”

The 2008 Olympic Games begin on August 8th and conclude on August 24th.
