PORTLAND, Ore. (April 10, 2026) – The Portland Trail Blazers have named guard Jrue Holiday as the recipient of the 2025-26 Maurice Lucas Award, the team announced today.

The annual award was created in 2010-11 to honor the Trail Blazers player who best represents the indomitable spirit of Maurice Lucas through his contributions on and off the court, as well as in support of his teammates and the organization. In recognition of the award, the Trail Blazers will make a $5,000 donation to a nonprofit of Holiday’s choice.

In just his first season with the Trail Blazers, the 2024-25 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion has continued his legacy of immersing himself within the community—participating in numerous community events throughout the season, including visiting SEI where Holiday joined the tech lab, the annual Fred Meyer Holiday Event where Holiday joined a family from Latino Network to complete a scavenger hunt and help them win prizes prior to doing their holiday shopping, spending time at OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital with kids and families, and also celebrating the Blazers Boys and Girls Club ,where Holiday competed in minute-to-win-it games against youth from local clubs.

"We had the absolute privilege to add one of the NBA’s best leaders and professionals to Rip City this season in Jrue," said Joe Cronin, Portland Trail Blazers General Manager. "The spirit of the Maurice Lucas Award is who Jrue has been his entire career as a Champion, Olympian and Social Justice Champion and we are proud to call him a Trail Blazer."

Over the course of his 17-year career, in addition to earning the Social Justice Champion award, Holiday has been the consummate professional both on and off the court. Jrue and wife, Lauren Holiday's social justice work centers on economic empowerment for underserved, Black-led communities through the JLH Social Impact Fund, which Jrue started in 2020 by pledging the remaining $5 million of his NBA salary when he chose to play in the NBA bubble. Since then, the fund has distributed over $5.3 million in unrestricted grants to over 200 founders across 16 U.S. cities and provided 400+ hours of coaching in partnership with Renee King of Fund Black Founders. The JLH Fund supports organizations like The Love We Don't See, 5-Eleven Hoops, Operation Restoration, and Adullam Outreach.

On the court, Holiday is averaging 16.3 points (45.3% FG, 38.5% 3-PT, 83.0% FT), 4.6 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 29.3 minutes per game in his first campaign in Portland. Holiday ranks second on the team in assists (6.2 apg) and fourth on the team in scoring (16.3 ppg), while his 16.3 points per game stand as his highest scoring average in a season since 2022-23.

"Jrue Holiday continues to be a model of how to serve the community and I am honored to present him with the Maurice Lucas Award," said Pam Lucas, widow of Maurice Lucas. "Jrue has shown grit and leadership for this season’s emerging Trail Blazers team that has made Rip City proud."

Former Trail Blazers All-Star Maurice Lucas passed away on October 31, 2010, at the age of 58. A beloved member of the franchise and the community, "The Enforcer" was a central figure on the Trail Blazers 1976-77 NBA Championship team. The Trail Blazers honored Lucas by retiring his uniform number (No. 20) on November 4, 1988.

Lucas averaged 15.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 0.72 blocked shots over five seasons (1976-80, 1987-88) as a Trail Blazer. During Portland's 1976-77 NBA Championship season, Lucas led the team in scoring (20.2), field goals made (8.0), free throws made (4.2), offensive rebounds (2.4) and minutes (36.2). Selected to the All-Star Game in three straight seasons from 1977-79, Lucas is one of six three-time All-Stars in Trail Blazers history (Damian Lillard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Clyde Drexler, Brandon Roy, Sidney Wicks). He served as an assistant coach with the Trail Blazers for five seasons from 2005-10, and previously in 1988-89.

PORTLAND, Ore. (Feb. 3, 2026) – Brooke Olzendam is continuing her impactful ‘Brooke Hearts Your Heart’ program in 2026 for a seventh year, sharing her personal story of loss that fuels her passion for heart health to support the American Heart Association. 'Brooke Hearts Your Heart' launched in February 2020 to educate fans on the importance of heart health, prevention, and education. Each year Olzendam shares her experience and utilizes her platform to encourage Trail Blazers fans to support the American Heart Association's critical programming with donations. To donate or learn more about heart health, fans can visit trailblazers.com/heart.

This program positively impacted Rip City to act after hearing Brooke’s story of loss. Brooke’s husband Andy, who passed away 10 days after they married in 2010, had a heart attack on a treadmill while working out at age 27. By sharing her personal story, Olzendam has been able to educate and show her support for the American Heart Association during National Heart Month, as well as educating and encouraging others to show their support, with the ultimate goal of saving lives.

Since its start in 2020, Brooke Hearts Your Heart has raised over $154,000. In support of Brooke’s efforts, the Trail Blazers have pledged to match up to $5,000 in donations to American Heart Association Oregon & SW Washington via her custom page to help Brooke achieve her goal and spread awareness about heart health.

"Heart Health affects everyone, and now more than ever we need to shine a light on organizations like the American Heart Association doing extraordinary work to raise awareness and funds for the cause, said Brooke Olzendam, Portland Trail Blazers Courtside Reporter. "Rip City steps up every year to support Brooke Hearts Your Heart, and I know this year will be no different. Whether it's making a donation, purchasing a beanie, sharing content or spreading awareness in your own unique way, it makes a big difference and we appreciate it all."

“Heart health, especially women’s heart health, deserves attention now,” said Dr. Brooke Baldwin, D.N.P., RN, CENP, Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing Executive at OHSU, and the American Heart Association’s 2026 chairperson for Oregon and southwest Washington’s Go Red for Women® movement. “My own family history is a constant reminder of how quickly and unexpectedly heart disease can affect the lives of women and their families. I'm incredibly grateful Brooke is helping shine a light on this important issue.”

This February, fans will have various opportunities to show their support for Brooke and the American Heart Association. Fans can purchase a limited-edition Brooke Hearts Your Heart beanie from Rip City Clothing in-store or online to support heart health initiatives throughout the month. On February 6, Moda Center and Morrison Bridge will be lit up red and fans are encouraged to join in support of National Wear Red Day, a day to bring awareness to women’s heart health.

Fans wanting to share their personal stories of the impact of the Brooke Hearts Your Heart campaign or donate to the Association can visit trailblazers.com/heart.
