PORTLAND, Ore. (June 30, 2023) – The Portland Trail Blazers announced today their roster for the NBA 2K24 NBA Summer League 2023 that begins July 7 in Las Vegas.
The Trail Blazers roster features rookies Scoot Henderson (third overall pick), Kris Murray (23rd overall pick), and the 43rd overall selection, Rayan Rupert (RYE-ahn roo-PARE) to go along with second-year players Sheadon Sharpe and Jabari Walker. Two-way players Ibou Badji and John Butler Jr. will both participate as well as third-year guard Keon Johnson. Portland’s Summer League entry will be coached by Trail Blazers assistant coach Jonah Herscu (Her-skew).
Portland’s July 7 summer opener will be played against Houston at 4:00 p.m. PT as the first game of a nationally televised triple-header on ESPN.
The 18th NBA Summer League will feature all 30 NBA teams playing five games each. After their opening game, the Trail Blazers will play on Sunday, July 9 against San Antonio, Tuesday, July 11 against Charlotte and Thursday, July 13 against Orlando. After every team plays four games from July 7-14, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs and participate in the semifinals on Sunday, July 16 (4 p.m. ET on ESPN and 6 p.m. ET on ESPN2). The two winning teams from the semifinal games will meet in the championship game on Monday, July 17 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN. The 26 teams that do not advance to the four-team playoff will play a fifth game on either Saturday, July 15 or Sunday, July 16.
