Lakers guard Alex Caruso (pelvis) exits preseason finale with injury

The Los Angeles Lakers’ preseason finale ended early for guard Alex Caruso, who exited in the first quarter Friday after suffering a bone contusion in his pelvis. Playing just three minutes as the starting PG, Caruso had logged two points, two assists and two turnovers before tumbling his way out of the action.

Caruso is expected to be re-evaluated upon the team’s return to Los Angeles.

In his third season with the Lakers out of Texas A&M, Caruso came on strong toward the end of last season, shooting 48% from 3-point range and 44.5% overall in 25 games. The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 9.2 points and 3.1 assists in 21.2 minutes per game.
