Mavericks acquire Noel from 76ers (Feb. 23)

Dallas Mavericks receive:

F/C Nerlens Noel

Philadelphia 76ers receive:

G Justin Anderson

C Andrew Bogut

2017 protected first-round pick

Official release: Mavericks | 76ers

Instant analysis: The Mavericks get younger and more athletic up front and do so by giving up very little to boot. Noel is just a season removed from being perhaps the best all-around contributor on the Sixers. As Dallas gears up for a push for that No. 8 spot out West, he’ll have plenty of chances to show his skill set and prove he’s a piece for Dallas to build around.

Thunder acquires Gibson, McDermott (Feb. 23)

Oklahoma City Thunder receives:

F Taj Gibson

F Doug McDermott

Unprotected 2018 second-round

Chicago Bulls receive:

F Joffrey Lauvergne

G Anthony Morrow

G Cameron Payne

Official release: Thunder | Bulls

Instant analysis: Enes Kanter’s injury (and OKC’s 4-6 mark while he’s been out) proved just how thin the Thunder bench is. They’ve hopefully rectified that issue by adding Gibson and McDermott. Of the two, Gibson is more playoff-tested (56 career playoff games) and will be counted on heavily to lighten the scoring/rebounding load Russell Westbrook totes. For the Bulls, this move may signal the start of a rebuild — or if nothing else signals a lot of competition for the starting point guard job as 2016-17 winds down.

Los Angeles Lakers receive:

G Tyler Ennis

Draft rights to G/F Brad Newley

Raptors add veteran P.J. Tucker (Feb. 23)

Toronto Raptors receive:

F P.J. Tucker

Phoenix Suns receive:

F Jared Sullinger

2017 second-round pick

2018 second-round pick

Official release: Raptors | Suns

Instant analysis: Nine days after they added a shotblocker in Serge Ibaka, the Raptors shore up their perimeter defense with Tucker. The former Suns standout plays the passing lanes well, is a physical defender and a somewhat respectable shooter from 3-point range. He’ll be able to spell and/or play with DeMarre Carroll to give Toronto added defensive punch as the season winds down.

* * *

Nuggets acquire Hibbert (Feb. 23)

Denver Nuggets receive:

C Roy Hibbert

Milwaukee Bucks receive:

Protected 2019 second-round pick

Official release: Nuggets | Bucks

Instant analysis: In Hibbert, the Nuggets pick up another big body to pair with a frontline that already includes rising young centers Mason Plumlee and Nikola Jokic. Hibbert brings veteran defense and rebound to a team looking to end its four season-long playoff drought.

* * *

Rockets add veteran guard Williams (Feb. 23)

Houston Rockets receive:

G Lou Williams

Los Angeles Lakers receive:

G Corey Brewer

2017 first-round pick

Official release: Rockets | Lakers

Instant analysis: The sharp-shooting Rockets add another long-range threat with Williams. The 12-year NBA veteran should help bolster the Rockets’ bench as he comes in averaging a career-high 18.6 points in just 24.2 minutes this season. The Lakers will control the Rockets’ first-round pick in this summer’s NBA Draft.

* * *

Hawks swap Splitter for Ilyasova (Feb. 22)

Atlanta Hawks receive:

F Ersan Ilyasova

Philadelphia 76ers receive:

F/C Tiago Splitter

2017 second-round pick (from Miami, protected for picks 31-40, unprotected in 2018)

Option to swap lesser of Sixers’ 2017 second-round picks with Hawks’ 2017 second-round pick

Official release: Hawks | 76ers

Instant analysis: Ilyasova (14.8 points per game) adds punch to a lackluster Hawks offense that ranks 26th in offensive efficiency. This marks the fifth time he’s been traded since June 2015. Splitter had been a disappointment in Atlanta, playing in just 36 of 138 games, and none this season, since his acquisition from the Spurs. Both players are on expiring contracts. The biggest benefit for the Sixers is likely freeing up playing time for promising rookie Dario Saric, who is averaging 16 points and 6.9 rebounds in February.

* * *

Wizards acquire Bogdanovic from Nets (Feb. 22)

Washington Wizards receive:

F Bojan Bogdanovic

F Chris McCullough

Brooklyn Nets receive:

F Andrew Nicholson

G Marcus Thornton

2017 first-round pick

Official release: Wizards | Nets

Instant analysis: A Wizards bench that ranks 29th in scoring receives some much-needed help from Bogdanovic, who is averaging 11.1 points per game while shooting 36.6 percent on 3-pointers over three NBA seasons. The Nets, meanwhile, add a first-round pick to help offset the disastrous 2013 trade that gives the Celtics the right to swap this year’s choice, as well as unprotected possession in 2018.

* * *

Kings trade Cousins to Pelicans (Feb. 20)

Sacramento Kings receive:

G Buddy Hield

G/F Tyreke Evans

G Langston Galloway

2017 first-round pick

2017 second-round pick

New Orleans Pelicans receive:

F/C DeMarcus Cousins

F Omri Casspi

Official release: Kings | Pelicans

Instant analysis: All-Star big men unite in the Big Easy as New Orleans, in Cousins, finds a superstar partner for its other standout big man, Anthony Davis. The duo is expected to both lighten the overall scoring burden Davis carries while also also giving the Pelicans the firepower they need to make a serious run at a Western Conference playoff spot. As for the Kings, Hield is the key piece here as they start a franchise rebuild after six-plus seasons with Cousins as the go-to guy.

* * *

Magic trade Ibaka to Raptors (Feb. 14)

Toronto Raptors receive:

F Serge Ibaka

Orlando Magic receive:

G Terrence Ross

2017 first-round pick

Official release: Raptors | Magic

Instant analysis: After a rough stretch of games for the Raptors, they bolster their defensive talent and frontcourt depth with Ibaka. The 27-year-old forward should fit in well alongside cornerstones DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas in Toronto’s starting lineup. Ibaka will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. Orlando adds a young, versatile guard in Ross who will receive more opportunities to contribute with the Magic.

* * *

Blazers, Nuggets swap big men Plumlee, Nurkic (Feb. 13)

Portland Trail Blazers receive:

C Jusuf Nurkic

2017 first-round pick

Denver Nuggets receive:

C Mason Plumlee

2018 second-round pick

Cash considerations

Official release: Blazers | Nuggets

Instant Analysis: Portland increases its stockpile of picks in the 2017 Draft to three and also adds a capable big man on a rookie deal in Nurkic. For Denver, it gets a versatile, young big man with fantastic court vision (Plumlee) to pair with its other versatile, young big man with fantastic court vision (Nikola Jokic). Plumlee, however, will be a restricted free agent this summer.

* * *

Cavs trade Andersen to Hornets (Feb. 13)

Cleveland Cavaliers receive:

Future second-round pick

Charlotte Hornets receive:

C Chris Andersen

Cash considerations

Official release: Cavaliers

Instant Analysis: Less than two weeks after acquiring center Miles Plumlee from the Milwaukee Bucks in a separate trade, the Hornets pick up another center. Andersen is out for the season with a torn ACL and given his age (38) and the fact he will be a free agent this summer, he could be bought out soon by Charlotte.

* * *

Bucks pick up Hawes, Hibbert from Hornets (Feb. 2)

Milwaukee Bucks receive:

C Spencer Hawes

C Roy Hibbert

Charlotte Hornets receive:

C Miles Plumlee

Official release: Bucks | Hornets

Instant Analysis: Milwaukee increases its depth to its frontcourt in the form of Hawes’ capable outside shooting touch and Hibbert’s flashes of solid post defense. For the Hornets, Plumlee — who starred at Duke — should get solid minutes and pair well with second-year center Frank Kaminsky.

Cleveland Cavaliers receive:

G Kyle Korver

Atlanta Hawks receive:

G/F Mike Dunleavey

G Mo Williams

Protected first-round draft pick

Cash considerations

Official release: Cavaliers | Hawks

Instant Analysis: Cleveland bolsters its bench with veteran sharpshooter Kyle Korver, who battled against LeBron James and the Cavs for many seasons in Atlanta. Cleveland offseason acquisition Mike Dunleavy heads to Atlanta, where he will help fill the void left by Korver.

Sixers trade for Ilyasova (Nov. 1)

Philadelphia 76ers receive:

F Ersan Ilyasova

Conditional first-round pick

Oklahoma City Thunder receive:

G/F Jerami Grant

Official release: Sixers | Thunder

Instant Analysis: Philadelphia adds a veteran frontcourt player to pair with rookies Joel Embiid and Dario Saric. Ilyasova should be able to space the floor for the young Sixers. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City adds Jerami Grant, a young, versatile swingman, to help strengthen their bench.
