Warriors Celebrate 40th Anniversary of 1975 NBA Championship

Established 1946 | 7-time NBA Champions

The Warriors completed one of the greatest upsets in professional sports history when they completed the sweep of the Washington Bullets in the 1975 NBA Finals. Forty years later, several members of that Championship team returned to Oracle Arena for a night of celebration, reflection and appreciation.

The Warriors commemorated that 1975 Championship season on Monday, March 23, when the team hosted the Washington Wizards, and the occasion connected the past with the present. During a break of the action, several Warriors from that Championship season were introduced on the court, and some were brought to near tears as the sellout crowd in attendance gave the group of Warriors royalty a loud, standing ovation that made clear that this legendary team would always have a special place in the hearts of these dedicated fans.

The on-court recognition was just part of the overall celebration of the Championship team. Held on Rick Barry Bobblehead Night, presented by adidas, the 40th anniversary of the 1975 Championship team included Warriors legends interacting fans, a unique commemorative ring giveaway and much more. Review some of the top moments from the evening in the photo gallery below.
