Warriors to Host Women's History Night Tomorrow Against Houston Rockets

The Golden State Warriors will celebrate Women’s History Month with special game night activations on Friday, March 31 when the team plays the Houston Rockets at Oracle Arena (tip-off 7:30 p.m.), it was announced today. The team will host game night activations to showcase prominent female members of the Warriors organization and the sports industry as well as share a positive message on gender equality.

As part of the team’s celebration, the team will recognize Jennifer Azzi for an on court presentation and jersey presentation after the first quarter of tomorrow’s game. Azzi, the Most Outstanding Player during Stanford University’s 1990 NCAA Championship run, a 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist and the former Head Coach of the University of San Francisco’s Women’s Basketball Team, will briefly address the Oracle Arena crowd and acknowledge Women’s History Month.

Warriors fans will also enjoy the following game night activations:

  • Snapchat Takeover: Warriors Hype Woman Ruby Lopez, Warriors Sideline Reporter Ros Gold-Onwude and CSN Bay Area Anchor/Reporter Kelli Johnson will take over the team’s Snapchat account. Lopez, Gold-Onwude and Johnson will provide a day-in-the-life look at their game day duties and experiences during a typical Warriors game at Oracle Arena.
  • Pregame Mixer: The Warriors and CSN Bay Area will host a pregame mixer for select women from local businesses and organizations in the Coors Light Club outside Sections 207 at 6:15 p.m. Warriors Sideline Reporter Ros Gold-Onwude will host the mixer and conduct a Q&A with Jennifer Azzi.
  • Women’s History Month T-Shirts: Over 200 fans sitting in CSN Bay Area’s Authentic Fan Friday Section will receive limited-edition Women’s History Month t-shirts, courtesy of CSN Bay Area.
  • In-Arena Showcase Videos: Throughout the night, the Warriors will air five Warriors TV features on the Oracle Arena videoboard to raise awareness for the team’s history and support of Women History Month.

Throughout the month of March, the Warriors have celebrated Women’s History Month by recognizing prominent and inspiring women in the organization and those who have shaped the team’s history. During the campaign, the Warriors have shared on their digital platforms stories on the rise of women in basketball, profiles of Warriors Head Performance Therapist Chelsea Lane and members of the Warriors Dance Team, as well as an address from Warriors players and coaches celebrating Women’s History Month.
