Warriors Win Three Northern California Emmy® Awards

OAKLAND, Calif. – The 2015 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors were honored tonight by the San Francisco/Northern California Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences with three EMMY® Awards in the categories of Sporting Game-Live/Unedited, Sports-Daily or Weekly Program/Series and Sports-Feature/Segment. The EMMY® Awards were presented Saturday, June 4 at the 45th Annual Northern California Area EMMY® Awards at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco and recognized excellence in all fields of television and on-line production throughout the 2015 calendar year.

Warriors TV broadcasters Bob Fitzgerald, Jim Barnett and Rosalyn Gold-Onwude took home an EMMY® for their broadcast of the Warriors vs. Kings game on CSN Bay Area when the Warriors defeated the Kings 126-101 on January 23, 2015 highlighted by Warriors All-Star guard Klay Thompson’s NBA record 37 point third quarter. Warriors play-by-play announcer Bob Fitzgerald is in his 19th season, color analyst Jim Barnett is in his 31st season and Rosalyn Gold-Onwude is in her second season as the Warriors TV broadcasters on CSN Bay Area.

In the Sports-Daily or Weekly Program/Series category the Warriors were honored for “Warriors Ground-Heroes’ Journey.” The “Heroes” episode, which is a part of the Warriors Ground series, debuted on CSN Bay Area on December 5, 2015 and recaps the Opening Night celebration and ring ceremony for the 2015 NBA Champion Warriors. In addition, it features Shaun Livingston and his enduring journey to becoming a champion, along with a sit down from Warriors Legend Rick Barry.
