Warriors to Host Social Media Night March 18 Against Atlanta Hawks

The Golden State Warriors and Esurance announced today that the team’s annual Social Media Night will take place on Wednesday, March 18 during their game against the Atlanta Hawks. For the third consecutive season, Warriors players will wear shooting shirts prior to the game featuring their personal Twitter and Instagram handles. Fans will have the opportunity to take home these one-of-a-kind shirts, as they will be available for purchase at the Warriors Team Stores at Oracle Arena and at warriorsteamstore.com.

This is the third consecutive season the Warriors and Esurance have teamed up to host Social Media Night, and this season, one lucky fan will get to participate as the #DubsSocialInsider after winning an exclusive contest. Warriors fan Melissa Boose from San Jose will help take over several of the Warriors official social media accounts during the game, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat. Boose will also have the opportunity to play a game of H.O.R.S.E. with Warriors TV commentator Jim Barnett after the game at Oracle Arena. Other elements of Social Media Night will include:

  • First 1,000 fans who “check in” to Golden State Warriors Home Game on Facebook will receive Warriors texting gloves, courtesy of Esurance
  • #GSWSocial “Tweet Your Section” contest, with the most active sections receiving Warriors beanies
  • #WarriorsGround fan photos included on the team’s Instagram Wall outside Section 124, with a variety of Instagram contests and challenges throughout the night
  • Using proximity-based beacon technology, the Warriors Mobile App will be used to notify fans how to receive exclusive Warriors ear buds
  • Contests and giveaways via Snapchat, Weibo and other social media channels to be announced
  • Fan Tweets featured on Oracle Arena scoreboard
  • Ticket giveaway contest for fans watching that night’s game at home
  • Random acts of social kindness and surprise giveaways throughout the night
