Warriors Earn Co-Retailer of the Year Award

The NBA Champion Golden State Warriors were named 2014-15 Co-Retailer of the Year by the NBA, it was announced today. The annual honor, awarded by the league since 2002, recognizes best practices in team merchandise sales and operations. The Warriors and the Toronto Raptors earned the award after an extensive review of all team retailers with criteria including innovative marketing and merchandising programs, breadth of product assortment, customer service, consumer shopping experience, and overall sales success.

The Warriors celebrate their second win in this category, after receiving the honor following the 2012-13 season. On the heels of the team’s fourth NBA championship in franchise history, the Warriors achieved record-breaking sales from the 2015 NBA Playoffs through the start of the 2015-16 regular season by using enhanced point-of-sale technology and expanding its in-market retail presence.  On Jan. 20, the NBA announced that the Warriors continue to rank No. 1 on the league’s list of top-selling teams with NBA MVP and Warriors guard Stephen Curry ranking No. 1 in jerseys sales across the league. The Warriors and Curry also garnered the top spot on the NBA’s Most Popular Team Merchandise and Jersey lists based on overall sales from NBA Stores from April 2015 - June 2015.

In addition, warriors.com merchandise sales set an all-time Warriors record from July 2015 through December 2015, up 656% over the previous best in 2014. Meanwhile,  for the 2015-16 season,  Warriors in-arena merchandise sales are up 117% through the first 20 home games compared to the first 20 home games of last season and the Warriors also saw the highest December per cap (average sales per person) on record in NBA history.
