Warriors Basketball Camp Establishes All-Time Summer Attendance Record

Established 1946 | 7-time NBA Champions

The Golden State Warriors announced today that Warriors Basketball Camp, powered by Under Armour, set an all-time attendance record for its 25 camp sessions in 21 locations throughout the Bay Area this summer. More than 3,400 campers, ages 7 to 15, participated in a camp session this summer, with every location selling out for the second consecutive season. To date, nearly 36,000 boys and girls have now participated in Warriors Basketball Camp since the program’s inception in the summer of 2000.

To celebrate Warriors Basketball Camp’s summer attendance record, Warriors center Festus Ezeli will make a surprise visit to the camp’s session at Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon (12601 Alcosta Blvd.) at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon to interact with more than 175 boys and girls. Ezeli will speak about his experiences winning the 2015 NBA Championship, and his continued participation in Warriors Basketball Camp since being drafted in 2012.

This summer, Warriors Basketball Camp featured visits from current Warriors players Harrison Barnes, Stephen Curry, Festus Ezeli, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and James Michael McAdoo, as well as Warriors ambassadors Jim Barnett and Adonal Foyle, former Warriors General Manager and Head Coach Garry St. Jean and former WNBA star Ruthie Bolton. During the 2014-15 NBA season, camp alums Will Cherry (Cleveland Cavaliers) and Tyler Johnson (Miami Heat) became the first two former campers to appear in the NBA.

Warriors Basketball Camp’s 2015 summer sessions will conclude next week at Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, home of the 2015 NBA D-League Champion Santa Cruz Warriors, from August 17-21. Fall 2015 sessions will include nine basketball clinics during the months of September and October for players to improve their basketball fundamentals.
