Golden State Warriors guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson and forwards Andre Iguodala and David Lee are among a group of 28 players selected to the 2014-16 USA Men’s National Team pool, USA Basketball announced today. Players who are part of the USA National Team pool are then eligible for selection for USA Basketball National Teams like the 2014 World Cup and, if the U.S. qualifies, the 2016 Olympic team. With four players selected, the Warriors are the most represented team in the NBA (no other team had more than two players chosen).

All four Warriors players have previous experience with Team USA, including gold medals at the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Curry and Iguodala and a gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games for Iguodala. Thompson was a member of the 2013 USA Basketball Men’s National Team mini-camp and 2012 USA Select Team, while Lee was a member of the 2007-08 Select Team and was chosen for the 2010 FIBA World Championship before a finger injury during a USA Basketball practice kept him out of competition.

Along with the four Warriors, the 2014-16 USA National Team pool consists of: LaMarcus Aldridge (Portland), Carmelo Anthony (New York), Bradley Beal (Washington), Tyson Chandler (New York), DeMarcus Cousins (Sacramento), Anthony Davis (New Orleans), Andre Drummond (Detroit), Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City), Kenneth Faried (Denver), Paul George (Indiana), Blake Griffin (Clippers), James Harden (Houston), Gordon Hayward (Utah Jazz), Dwight Howard (Houston), Kyrie Irving (Cleveland), LeBron James (Miami), Kyle Korver (Atlanta), Kawhi Leonard (San Antonio), Damian Lillard (Portland), Kevin Love (Minnesota), Chris Paul (Clippers), Derrick Rose (Chicago), Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City) and Deron Williams (Brooklyn). The USA National Team pool is fluid, and USA Basketball Chairman and National Team Managing Director Jerry Colangelo may add athletes at any time.

The National Team coaching staff features USA head coach and Duke University’s Naismith Hall of Fame mentor Mike Krzyzewski. Serving as assistant coaches are USA Basketball and Syracuse University veteran coach Jim Boeheim, Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau and New Orleans Pelicans head coach Monty Williams.

A smaller group of U.S. National Team members will be selected to participate in the 2014 USA National Team’s opening training camp in July. Exact training dates and locations for the USA National Team training in 2014 will be announced at a later date.
