Warriors to Host Holiday Toy Drive December 10th against Houston Rockets

The Golden State Warriors will host a pregame Holiday Toy Drive on Wednesday, December 10 at Oracle Arena when the team hosts the Houston Rockets, it was announced today. Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy in support of the 2014 Oakland Mayor’s Community Toy Drive.

During the 2013 holiday season, more than 16,000 dolls, trucks, books, board games, sports equipment and gift certificates were donated to children from low-income Oakland families as part of the Mayor’s Community Toy Drive. Toys suitable for children ages 0-12 are needed this holiday season. Fans can drop off their new, unwrapped toys at every entrance to Oracle Arena when doors open at 6:00 p.m.

This Holiday Toy Drive is part of the Warriors Plays for the Holidays community outreach initiative and the NBA Cares Season of Giving campaign to help brighten the lives of local families and youth in the Bay Area. As part of the Warriors Plays for the Holidays initiative, each Warriors player and coach will also participate in at least one event this holiday season to give back to families and youth in the Bay Area.
