Warriors Win Sports Media Marketing Award For “Midnight Shooter” Television Commercial

The Golden State Warriors Midnight Shooter television commercial was named the Best Intra-League Team Spot by PromaxBDA for the 2013 Sports Media Marketing Awards, it was announced today. Midnight Shooter, featuring Warriors Guard Klay Thompson, narrated by Warriors Head Coach Mark Jackson and developed and produced by MUH-TAY-ZIK | HOF-FER features Thompson shooting late night in the Warriors Practice Facility draining three-pointers in the dark, highlighting the team’s work ethic and countless hours put into preparing for each season. The Warriors will also debut this season’s “We Are Warriors” television commercial featuring Thompson and Warriors fan Toni Marshall from Hayward, CA titled Assist on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area during tonight’s game against Memphis.

The award-winning Midnight Shooter, which was also honored as runner-up across all professional sports team by PromaxBDA, was a part of a larger television commercial campaign shot when the players were working out in Oakland prior to the 2012-13 season. The spots featured Warriors’ players sweating it out on the court, in the gym and during training sessions. Additional commercials for the 2012-13 campaign include The Show, Ramp Run and Sound FX, which, along with Midnight Shooter, ran on WarriorsTV, the Warriors YouTube Channel and on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and additional local Bay Area television stations throughout the 2012-13 season.

For the 2013-14 season, in addition to Assist, the Warriors debuted the first “We Are Warriors” television commercials titled A Little Help featuring center Andrew Bogut and guard Kent Bazemore and Warriors fans and brothers Carlo Fiatarone, Gianni Fiatarone and Jimmy Fiatarone from Orinda, CA. Additional 2013-14 “We Are Warriors” television commercials will be debuted throughout the season.

MUH-TAY-ZIK | HOF-FER, developed and produced the award-winning Midnight Shooter and additional television commercials for the 2012-13 season, and once again produced and developed this season’s commercials. Last season’s campaign was directed by the duo of John Matejczyk and his creative partner, Diko Daghlian. The production company Identity gave an assist, along with DP Chris Norr, who also shot the current, and wildly popular horror film, Sinister. This year’s campaign was directed by John Matejczyk and written by Josh Bogdan.
