Manny Pacquiao 'Cross Training' at Warriors HQ

Established 1946 | 7-time NBA Champions

Late last week, word got out that boxing great Manny Pacquiao was looking for a place to play some pickup basketball, and the Warriors were happy to oblige. In the Bay Area to promote this fall’s fight in China against Chris Algieri, the WBO welterweight champion visited Warriors headquarters to pursue his other passion – basketball.

Pacquiao, one of the top boxers of his generation with a 56-5-2 record and 38 knockouts is a big fan of basketball. He will be a player/coach for the Kia Sorrentos, an expansion team in the Philippine Basketball Association, and he has followed the NBA game for years. While playing at Warriors HQ, he proudly sported a Stephen Curry jersey, and he even calls Curry one of his favorite players in the game today.
