Warriors Name John Murray Strength & Conditioning Coach

The Golden State Warriors have hired John Murray as the team's strength and conditioning coach, it was announced today by Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.

Murray, 37, joins Tom Abdenour (athletic trainer) and Mark Grabow (director of athletic development) on the Warriors’ training staff.

A San Francisco native and graduate from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in Psychology, Murray received his M.A. in Clinical Sports Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. In addition to spending each of the last three years at Stanford University (director of strength and conditioning), he has worked as a personal trainer for numerous professional athletes, including NBA players Tayshaun Prince, Freddie Jones, Troy Bell, Casey Jacobsen and Joel Pryzbilla. Along with his personal training experience and expertise, Murray has also worked with the Canadian Football League’s Sacramento Goldminers, the Japanese Basketball League’s Japan Energy Griffins and Bosch Blue Winds, and Major League Soccer’s San Jose Earthquakes.
