Golden State Warriors Host Go Green Night, Powered by Bay Area BMW, During Tonight’s Game

Established 1946 | 7-time NBA Champions

The 2015 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors will host Go Green Night, powered by Bay Area BMW, during tonight’s game against the New York Knicks, the team announced today. All fans who enter Oracle Arena on Wednesday night will receive a special Go Green t-shirt made of eco-friendly products, including recycled plastic bottles.

During tonight’s game, one lucky fan will be given the opportunity to shoot a half-court shot to win a BMW i3 electric vehicle, courtesy of Bay Area BMW. The lucky fan was selected for this opportunity by taking the Change the Course Pledge to Conserve Water. For each fan who takes the pledge to shrink their water footprint at warriors.com/gogreen or retweets the @Warriors Twitter account with #WarriorsGoGreen, Change The Course will restore 1,000 gallons of water to wetlands in the Sacramento River Basin.

Last season, Warriors fan Jason Valdes made a halfcourt shot to win a BMW i3 electric vehicle during Game 2 of the 2015 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on June 7, 2015.

As part of their own commitment to Go Green, the Warriors and Bay Area BMW have partnered with Change the Course to restore 1,000,000 gallons of water to wetlands in the Sacramento River Basin, which balances Oracle Arena’s water footprint for the entire month of March in honor of World Water Day on March 22.

As part of the Warriors and Bay Area BMW’s Go Green platform for the 2015-16 season, Warriors forward Draymond Green joined Founder of Ecofabulous Zem Joaquin to visit Warriors season ticket holder Rod Adams at his home to investigate ways he and his family can incorporate green initiatives into their home and daily lives. Fans can visit warriors.com/gogreen to learn tips and tricks to stay “Green” in their own homes.

The Warriors have sold out 165 consecutive games and have a current Season Ticket Priority Wait List of over 23,500 members. Tickets for all 2015-16 home games are available and can be purchased at warriors.com, or by calling 1-888-GSW-HOOP.

Change the Course is a campaign to restore fresh water to critically dewatered rivers and wetlands in the United States. The campaign is spearheaded by a science based non-profit organization called Bonneville Environmental Foundation and has several partners including National Geographic and Participant Media.
