Financial Donations Welcomed; All Donations To Benefit Alameda County Community Food Bank

The Golden State Warriors are hosting a pre-game Holiday Food Drive on Saturday, November 23 at Oracle Arena against the Portland Trail Blazers, the team announced today. Fans are encouraged to bring five or more non-perishable food items in support of Alameda County Community Food Bank. Doors to Oracle Arena open at 6:00 p.m., with the first 500 fans who donate food or $5 to the Food Drive receiving a large popcorn voucher, courtesy of Levy Restaurants.

Fans can drop off their donations in one of the Food Bank’s bright red barrels located at the North and South deltas, Plaza, Valet and F-lot entrances of Oracle Arena. Food Bank volunteers will also be accepting financial donations at their table located on the main concourse at Section 118.

This Holiday Food Drive is part of the Warriors Plays for the Holidays community outreach campaign and the NBA Cares Season of Giving, where the Warriors organization and each Warriors player will participate in at least one event this holiday season to help brighten the lives of local families and youth in the Bay Area.

Since 1985, Alameda County Community Food Bank has been at the forefront of hunger-relief efforts in the Bay Area. This year the Food Bank will distribute 28 million pounds of food, more than half farm-fresh produce. The Food Bank serves 1 in 6 Alameda County residents – nearly half children – by distributing food through a network of 275 food pantries, soup kitchens, and other community organizations. In total, the Food Bank serves 49,000 people each week – two and a half times the capacity of Oracle Arena during a Warriors home game.
