Santa Cruz Warriors Seth Curry and Mychel Thompson to Participate in Warriors Twitter Takeover
Warriors To Host A Twitter Takeover With Players From Every Bay Area Team During The 2013-14 Season

The Golden State Warriors will host Santa Cruz Warriors players Seth Curry and Mychel Thompson, brothers of Golden State Warriors guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, for a Twitter takeover of the team’s official account – @warriors – during the second quarter of the Warriors nationally televised game (NBA TV) versus the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, March 9, the team announced today. During the takeover, Curry (@sdotcurry) and Thompson (@MychelThompson) will offer their unique perspectives of the game as it’s unfolding, while also interacting with fans who tweet or reply to @warriors on Twitter. Leading up to the event, Golden State and its official NBA D-League affiliate are also collaborating on a contest in which one fan can win tickets to see both teams play this weekend.

Throughout the 2013-14 season, the Warriors will host a player from each of the major Bay Area professional sports teams - including the Oakland Athletics, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco Giants and San Jose Sharks - to manage the @warriors Twitter account. The team’s official Twitter account is a great way for fans to experience behind-the-scenes access, original content and events throughout the 2013-14 season.

Earlier this season, San Francisco 49ers All-Pro left tackle Joe Staley participated in the Warriors first Twitter Takeover during the first quarter of the team’s preseason game on October 7; San Francisco Giants All-Star closer Sergio Romo took over @warriors during the second quarter of the Warriors win over the Los Angeles Clippers on January 30; Oakland Raiders punter Marquette King and wide receiver Rod Streater took part in a takeover during the second quarter of the Warriors win over the Brooklyn Nets on February 22; on August 25, 2013, Warriors forward Andre Iguodala and supermodel/actress Marisa Miller hosted a dual Twitter Takeover of the San Francisco 49ers official Twitter account during the team’s Sunday Night Football game against the Minnesota Vikings.
