Iguodala's Championship Offseason

When your offseason begins with the acceptance of the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award, chances are it’s going to be a pretty good summer. Such has been the case for Warriors’ swingman Andre Iguodala, who has experienced a multitude of personal and professional milestones in the afterglow of the Warriors’ first Championship in four decades.

August, in particular, has been an extremely eventful month for Iguodala. First, he got married in Cabo San Lucas, with several current and former Golden State teammates in attendance including Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Festus Ezeli, Justin Holiday, Jermaine O’Neal and Kent Bazemore. Next came a trip back to his hometown of Springfield, Illinois where Iguodala was awarded the key to the city. Not only did he bring both the Larry O’Brien and NBA Finals MVP trophies with him to put on display at his former high school, but the Saturday on which the presentation took place was proclaimed Andre Iguodala Day by the city’s mayor.

Iguodala’s travels didn’t stop there, however. The 11-year NBA veteran is currently on his first-ever trip to Japan as part of the NBA Clutch Time Trophy Tour.

And yes, he took his championship hardware with him.

Two trophies, international travel, one ring and another one coming shortly…yep, safe to say Iguodala is enjoying the championship life. And really, who could blame him?
