TREY THOMPSON
The Warriors have posted the best defensive rating in the league over the course of their current 12-game winning streak, but it hasn’t hurt to have their sharpshooters converting at high rates as well. Klay Thompson made seven of his 14 three-point attempts in Tuesday’s victory over the Timberwolves, leading the Dubs’ long-range attack just like he has throughout the streak. Thompson has now made 58-of-119 (.487) three-point attempts over the course of the winning streak, while his backcourt mate Stephen Curry has nearly matched him, making 56-of-122 (.459). Curry has already eclipsed 300 three-pointers on the season for just the second time in NBA history (he made 402) last year, while Tuesday’s performance brought Thompson’s three-point total to 262 on the 2016-17 campaign. That’s already the eighth-highest single season three-point total in league history, and if Thompson were to make just eight more treys over the course of Golden State’s final four games of the regular season, he and Curry would own the top six single-season three-point totals of all-time.

PHOENIX SCOUTING REPORT
While the Warriors were the first team to clinch a playoff berth this season, the Suns have been on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. At 22-56, Phoenix possesses the second-worst record in the league ahead of only Brooklyn, and they’ve closed the season on a sour note, having lost their last 12 games. Devin Booker has been one of the few bright spots, and recently became the youngest player in NBA history to score 70 points in a game. The Suns allow the most points per game in the league, which would seem to be a bad combination with Golden State, as the Warriors are on pace to become the first team in 25 years to average at least 116 points per contest. One team enters Wednesday’s game riding a 12-game winning streak while the other is on a 12-game losing streak, meaning it will be a matchup of teams currently heading in opposite directions.
