DOUBLE TRIPLE DOUBLE
This may be the year of the triple-double in the NBA, but just because we’ve seen more of them than usual, it doesn’t diminish the accomplishment itself. Both Kevin Durant and Draymond Green can speak to that, having each tallied a triple-double in the Warriors’ last two games. First, Durant posted 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the Warriors victory over the Mavericks on Friday, tallying a triple-double in the first three quarters of a game for the second time in his career. Then, on Monday night against the Nuggets, Green finished with 15 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds to secure his second triple-double of the season. That was the 16th triple-double of Green’s career, and sure enough, the Warriors have won all 16 of those games. It marked the first time in franchise history that Golden State has had triple-doubles in consecutive games by different players.

PORTLAND SCOUTING REPORT
There are few teams having a more disappointing season than the Trail Blazers. At 15-21, Portland currently occupies the ninth spot in the West, one game behind Sacramento for the eighth and final playoff spot. Prior to winning two of their last three games, the Trail Blazers lost 10 of 11, and only three of those contests were one-possession games. Defense has been the major issue, as Portland is allowing 109.7 points per 100 possessions on the season, the second-worst defensive rating in the entire league. Making matters worse, Damian Lillard has missed the past four games with a left ankle sprain, and he is listed as doubtful for Wednesday night’s matchup with the Warriors. Golden State has won the last four regular season meetings between the two teams, including a 135-90 blowout in their most recent encounter back on December 17th, the Warriors largest margin of victory this season. Particularly if they’re without Lillard, it will be tough for Portland to outscore Golden State, so their best chances at victory may very well lie on the defensive end, where they’ll likely need to produce a stout performance.
