SHOOTING THE LIGHTS OUT
After an uncharacteristically poor three-point shooting start to the season, the Warriors appear to have righted the ship over the last week. Over their last three games, Golden State has combined to make 47-of-98 (.480) attempts from beyond the arc, far and away the best percentage of any team over that same span. Considering that the Dubs had made only 53-of-178 (.298) attempts on the season prior to this recent surge, it’s evident that they’re beginning to progress back to the mean. All but two of their makes over the last three games have come from the quartet of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant, who are shooting at a combined 55.6 percent clip over their current three-game winning streak. Thompson has made as many three-pointers over the last three games (9-of-18) as he had in the entire season up to that point (9-of-46), while Curry’s 24 three-pointers over that span rank as more than every other team in the league besides the Los Angeles Clippers (27) and the Minnesota Timberwolves (24). Given the amount of pure shooting talent the Warriors’ possess, it was only a matter of time until their shots began to fall. It appears that time is upon us.

PHOENIX SCOUTING REPORT
Following an 0-4 start to the season, the young suns have bounced back strongly, winning three of their last five games. While Phoenix seems to have no trouble scoring the ball, averaging 107.6 points per game (8th best in NBA), it’s been the complete and opposite end of the spectrum on the other end of the court, where they rank second-worst in the league allowing an average of 113.0 points per contest. Given the fact that Golden State currently leads the NBA in scoring with an average of 114.6 points per game, this would appear to be a poor matchup for Phoenix on paper. That said, they’re young and they play at the fastest pace in the league, and they were within two points with 14 seconds left in their lone matchup with Golden State so far this season. Expect an up-and-down game, which will be the Warriors final one at Oracle Arena before heading out on a four-game Eastern Conference road trip.
